7th May

A solo visit on the R1200 GS Adventure to Bentley Wood to the East of Salisbury, aiming predominantly for the Pearl Bordered Fritillary.

I had good sightings, but not good photography, as like Aish Tor back in April, they were hyperactive and skittish. I probably saw 10 or more specimens.

On a related note, I met some interesting enthusiasts out looking for the same thing, Melanie and Wayne, and a man called Wurzel (otherwise known as Rich) who maintains a butterfly and wildlife blog.
