17th – 26th April

The “lockdown” continues, but finding things to do.

Started assisting Butterfly Conservation with some recording/surveying on Battlesbury Hill – especially the Duke of Burgundy Fritillaries which first emerged around the 20th April – been shooting images of them also. The Marsh Fritillary have also emerged very early.

Small Tortoiseshell “livestock” arrived from Worldwide Butterflies, so the larvae are now happily feeding on potted nettle.

Continued work sorting the “image pc” – and steady progress on website content.

Plenty of walking around the local environs, especially to Battlesbury Hill, Smallbrook and Middle Hill.
