A walk up to nearby Battlesbury Hill, guiding an interested friend, to see and photograph the Spring butterflies. A good day for photography, capturing Duke of Burgundy and Marsh Fritillary action, plus a few other species.
Also, I met an interesting enthusiast called Mark who’d travelled down from Chesire for a couple of days in the area. I helped him out with areas for sightings and in return he offered to guide Fuzz and I to the Whixall Moss site for Large Heath, and also suggested a site I’d not heard of for Black Hairstreak (Glapthorn Cow Pasture).
