A visit to Wales on the R1200 GS – visiting Bishops Castle, Newtown, Rhayader, Elan Valley & Devils Bridge. A few images to show for it.
3rd – 4th February
Headed Southwest on the R1200 GS down the A303 to Exeter and then onto Dartmoor including Chagford and Princetown: then Plymouth and across the Tamar to Looe. Returned via Plymouth, Bigbury on Sea, Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Slapton, Dartmouth, Kingswear, Paignton, Torquay, Teignmouth, Dawlish and Exeter.
24th December
The Suzuki Magazine arrives containing an article an images by Jeremy and Amanda, taken at Portland in October.
19th December
A visit to the final British Society of Underwater Photographers (BSOUP) meeting of the year in London.
17th December
A nice bit of news arrives in an email bulletin – Jeremy is now a featured photographer on the US based Dive Photo Guide website.
17th December
The finishing touches are added to a new brochure aimed at magazine editors showing a sample feature. It’ll be available in the New Year and focuses on our photojournalism work.
10th December
Another Sport Diver magazine cover! The January 2008 edition arrives featuring a split level image taken by Jeremy at Chesil Beach in October.
5th December
Two of Jeremy’s images, from Egypt and Corsica, are selected for the new Aquapress 2008 Wreck Diving Calendar.
24th -28th November
Amanda visits New York to celebrate her sister’s 40th. A chance for a few images.
10th November
A selection of Jeremy’s images are published in the “contributors” area of the new Sport Diver magazine website.
4th November
A visit to the Westonbirt Arboretum in the Cotswolds . A chance for some “autumn colours” photography.
26th – 28th October
A short visit to the Norwegian capital of Oslo. A chance for a bit of photography.
21st October
Good news is received from Jason Heller of Dive Photo Guide, the US based international underwater photography website, that one of Jeremy’s images has been selected for the top ten of the Best of 2007 competition. The chosen image may be featured in the US Sport Diver magazine in January.
10th October
Jeremy attends a useful Nikon speedlight course with John Clements in Kingston, London.
9th October
Jeremy’s images chosen in “Editors Selection” of the Dive Photo Guide website’s “Best of 2007” collection and competition.
8th October
The new Dive quest brochure arrives, featuring two of Jeremy’s images in the gallery section.
6th October
A last minute visit to Chesil Beach for a couple of dives – great conditions, not bad visibility. A few nice diver images to show for it. I rode down on the R1200 GS.
1st October
Jeremy is now a featured photographer on the Subal website. Subal is the Austrian based manufacturer of our Nikon D200 Underwater Housings.
1st October
News of Jeremy’s Sport Diver Underwater Photographer of the Year 2007 competition win is posted on the Ocean Optics website.

15th September
The October edition of Sport Diver magazine is published, featuring an article by Jeremy about our experiences diving the SS Yongala in Australia.
15th – 16th September
Selecting images from France and Italy for the website, plus work on other website upgrades and updates.
7th September
News stories in the Wiltshire Times and Warminster Journal about Jeremy’s competition win.
6th – 10th September
A visit to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, near Milan. We stayed in nearby Como, and found time to visit Belaggio, further up the lake. Lots of controversy all along the pit lane!
5th September
News reaches us that two images have made the final selection for the new Divequest brochure.
2nd September

News of Jeremy’s Sport Diver Competition Win reaches the “This is Wiltshire” website, affiliated to the Wiltshire Times.
13th August
Sport Diver magazine arrives announcing Jeremy’s Underwater Photographer of the Year Award 2007. The winning image graces the cover and there’s also a feature inside.
8th – 13th August
A short visit to the south of France, staying at Cassis, to the east of Marseille.
3rd – 5th August
A ride to Wales on the R1200 GS to visit a friend who lives at Church Stoke near Bishops Castle. Route up via the old Severn Crossing, the Wye Valley, Hereford, Leominster, Ludlow and Craven Arms. On the Saturday, we rode to the Lleyn Peninsula via Welshpool, Dolgellau and Portmadog. As most of the UK basked in glorious sunshine, we found the only torrential rain within a 1000 miles!
14th – 19th July
Writing a short story about how the Sport Diver Underwater Photographer of the Year image was taken.
12th July
Great news from Sport Diver Magazine; editor Mark Evans calls with the news that Jeremy has won the overall prize for Sport Diver’s Underwater Photographer of the Year Competition 2007. The contest was to “Shoot the Cover” for the magazine. The winning image was taken at Cod Hole in Eastern Australia and features Amanda next to a giant Potato Cod. The main prize is a photographic trip with underwater photographer Tony White.
9th July
Third of a series of articles about building photographic websites is published in the BSOUP “In Focus” magazine.
27th June – 4th July
A visit to the Egyptian Red Sea, aboard the Sea Serpent liveaboard based out of Marsa Alam. Areas visited included St. Johns, Fury Shoals and Elphinstone. It was a great week for photos, with Amanda’s clownfish image winning the on-board photo competition. It features as our August “Image of the month”.
20th June
Article describing our diving experiences aboard the Kona Aggressor in Hawaii is published in Sport Diver magazine.
2nd – 5th April
Dubious weather and a tsunami warning didn’t stop the Spirit of Freedom dive live aboard from leaving Cairns. An excellent trip with improving weather, we visited the Ribbon Reefs and the “world famous” Cod Hole before flying back to Cairns from Lizard Island.
27th – 30th March
Three nights in remote Alva Beach and two days to dive the Wreck of the SS Yongala. We were lucky with the weather. Several trips had been cancelled during the week before our arrival.
25th March
The flight back to “Bundi” and a short (by Australian standards) drive to the fantastically named Town of 1770.
21st – 25th March
Back to nature at the excellent Lady Elliot Island eco resort. A great place, simple living, nesting turtles, thousands of birds, fantastic diving and the smell of guano! Very “camera happy” here.
20th March
A four hour drive to Bundaberg, famous for its rum, and for us, the gateway to Lady Elliot Island on the southernmost tip of the Great Barrier Reef.
19th March
Set off for Beerwah, home of Australia Zoo, passing Brisbane to the left. The zoo was a “happy sad” place following the recent death of Aussie icon, conservationist and global megastar Steve Irwin. Nearby Landsborough was nice too, with a good pub.
17th March
Another long-ish drive to visit our friends on the Gold Coast, just south of Surfers Paradise. En route we passed Woolgoolga and Grafton. At Ballina we took the coastal route visiting Lennox Head and Byron Bay.
16th March
A long drive North to Coffs Harbour. Took an interesting “loop” away from the main road passing the Myall Lakes National Park, the Booti Booti National Park, Forster and Tuncurry. We rejoined the Pacific Highway south of Taree and pressed on, bypassing Port Macquarie, and then through Kempsey and Mackville.
