Image of the Month 2014
December 2014
An “arty” image of “The Thunderdome” in the Turks and Caicos Islands – a unique wreck that is actually the stage set of some ridiculous French quiz show. Image taken on 27th July 2014 using a Nikon D200 and a pair of Inon strobes. Settings were ISO 100, f6.3, 1/15th second.
November 2014
The Turks and Caicos Islands still have good populations of sharks that can be encountered regularly by divers. This image features a Caribbean Reef Shark at the G-Spot site at French Cay. We also used this image for the cover of our 2015 Diving Dreams calendar. Image taken on 27th July 2014 using a Nikon D200 and a pair of Inon strobes. Settings were ISO 100, f6.3, 1/80th second.
October 2014
A nice image of “The Thunderdome” in the Turks and Caicos Islands – a unique wreck that is actually the stage set of some ridiculous French quiz show. Image taken on 30th July 2014 using a Nikon D200 and a pair of Inon strobes. Settings were ISO 100, f6.3, 1/40th second.
September 2014
There was plenty in dive action at Roca Blanca (White Rock) in the Galapagos, such as this fine turtle specimen that cruised out of the gloom straight towards me. Image taken on 13th June 2013 using a Nikon D200. Settings were ISO 200, f8, 1/200th second.
August 2014
The shark action at Darwin and Wolf Islands in the Galapagos was quite stunning during our visit. This is one of my favourite hammerhead images, taken at Darwin Island. Image taken on 19th June 2013 using a Nikon D200. Settings were ISO 400, f7.1, 1/80th second.
July 2014
Lankan Reef in the Maldives is known for its regular manta ray visitations. On this occasion, we were lucky, with this pristine specimen circling around us at the cleaning station. Image taken on 5th April 2012 using a Nikon D200. Settings were ISO 100, f8, 1/60th second.
June 2014
This interesting image was taken at Cape Marshall in the Galapagos Islands, using a rear curtain sync and a slow shutter speed. Image taken on 14th June 2013 using a Nikon D200. Settings were ISO 100, f8, 1/15th second.
May 2014
Our visit to the Galapagos was a fantastic experience, with our dive with the Marine Iguanas being especially magical. This image shows one of these unique lizards feeding on algae. Image taken on 17th June 2013 using a Nikon D200. Settings were ISO 320, f8, 1/125th second.
April 2014
We really like this photograph. It shows our son Zac close to the summit of the Stromboli volcano with an ash plume immediately behind him. It featured in one of his school projects. Image taken on 1st August 2013 using a Nikon D200. Settings were ISO 400, f11, 1/350th second.
March 2014
This image shows Jeremy and dive guide Jenny from the Black Rock Dive Centre at the end of a dive at the Blue Hole in Dahab, Egypt. We used it in our 2014 “Diving Dreams” Calendar. Image taken on 30th April 2013 using a Nikon D200. Settings were ISO 200, 16, 1/200th second.
February 2014
We loved our visit to the island of Stromboli (one of the Aeolian group) off northern Sicily. This image shows the “main street” at siesta time. Image taken on 3rd August 2013 using a Nikon D200. Settings were ISO 200, f22, 1/100th second.
January 2014
Our local dive centre, the Divezone from Melksham run some very rewarding sessions for disabled divers at local pools such as the one at Culverhay School in Bath where they asked me come along and capture some of the action. This was one of my favourites. Image taken on 25th October 2013 using a Nikon D200. Settings were ISO 500, f6.3, 1/60th second.
