A short weekend trip to Dublin to celebrate a friend’s significant birthday. Not much photography, although we did take some images at the Guiness Factory.





1st – 12th August

Still in the Caymans, with visits to the Turtle Farm, Rum Point, the South & East sides and other places of interest. Some sporadic diving too, at sites around Grand Cayman.





20th July

Dive Photo guide publish Jeremy’s feature about diving Niihau and Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands, with particular reference to the Hawaiian Monk Seals.

To the marina to greet the Solmar V liveaboard, heading out on the 24 hour voyage to the Socorro Islands.

8th March – 3rd April

Sorting a trip to the Socorro Islands, off Mexico’s Pacific coast. These islands are also known as the “tongue twisting” Revillagigedo Islands. Likely to be lots on big animal action, especially sharks and giant mantas.



12th – 16th March

A surprise long weekend in Marrakech (for Amanda), Morocco. Amanda had a “significant” birthday, so we had to do something special and different. Great place for photography, although we mostly chilled out, which was our expressed desire.



17th February

Sport Diver publish Jeremy’s “Up North, Down South” Red Sea liveaboard comparison featuring images from the 2007 Marsa Alam trip aboard the Sea Serpent, and from the 2008 Sharm el Sheikh trip aboard the Typhoon.

Sport Diver publish Jeremy’s “Hawaii’s Forbidden Island” feature, from Niihau and Kauai, which includes incredible Hawaiian Monk Seal encounters and stunning underwater scenery.






3rd January

The British Society of Underwater Photographers (BSOUP) website gives coverage to the publication of our PDF gallery from the Philippines.



15th December

Sport Diver publish Jeremy’s feature on Lady Elliot Island, a fantastic little spec of land located at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.



1st November

The new “Dive Destinations” supplement is published by Sport Diver, featuring Jeremy’s article about diving the wreck of the SS Yongala in eastern Australia.



30th October

Jeremy publishes a PDF document, featuring a selection of images from the Atlantis Dive Resorts at Puerto Galera and Dumaguete in the Philippines – see the link on the homepage to view the document.


29th October

Jeremy and Amanda produce a first proof of a calendar design, featuring a selection of their underwater photography from around the world.





28th August

Jeremy is admitted to hospital in “a bad way” after suffering septic shock and resulting cellulitis, which started with a small friction burn injury sustained in Kauai. After a week of heavy antibiotics, Jeremy was allowed home with further medications. Jeremy publishes a selection of images from the Philippines, for the Atlantis Resorts in Puerto Galera and Dumaguete.


25th August

The D200’s go in for servicing and repairs after their Kauai batterings, and we’re told that our 12-24mm lens is “dead” after getting dropped in a rock pool.






13th August

Jeremy takes Zac tubing. Little did he know that a small “friction burn” injury on his elbow would get him hospitalised “in a big way” a week and a half later.


11th – 12th August

Overnight at Kokee Lodge. A late afternoon walk on the Kaluapuhi Trail and a bit of time at the Kalalau lookouts. Next day, a great trek on the Alakai Swamp Trail, reaching the the end at the Kilohana Lookout.


11th August

The Ja Universe website is featured on the BSOUP (British Society of Underwater Photographers) Website of the Week series.










27th July

A spectacular helicopter ride around Kauai with highlights including the Waimea Canyon, Na Pali Coast and Waialeale Crater.




23rd July

Butterfly Conservation use an image of Zac with an endangered Marsh Fritillary taken at Cotley Hill at Heytesbury, near Warminster in May.



9th July

Our “Lights, Cameras, Action” PDF feature about diving Hawaii’s Kona Coast gets coverage in UWP Magazine.


5-6th July

A visit to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on the R1200 GS. We stayed at Oxford overnight and were treated to an excellent wet race won by Lewis Hamilton. We got a good soaking on the way home!



21st – 28th June

We enjoyed a great week in Egypt aboard the Typhoon liveaboard, getting away from the madding crowds and day boats of Sharm el Sheikh. 20th June

Although we’re not regular entrants to competitions, we were pleased that both of our images reached “semi finalist” status in the globally renowned Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2007 Awards.


9th – 19th June

Jeremy has a  “last minute” trip to the Philippines, staying at the excellent Atlantis Hotel dive resorts in Puerto Galera (Mindoro) and Dumaguete (Negros). Expect these resorts to feature on the “must visit” lists of many a long haul dive traveller. Look out for the trip images later in the year.


15th June

Sport Diver Magazine publishes “Fly Dive” feature, about our experiences on boards the Spirit of Freedom liveaboard based out of Cairns in eastern Australia.

23rd – 26th May

A visit to Jersey in the Channel Islands. The diving that we’d planned was unfortunately “blown out” due to the Bank Holiday weather and a pollution incident in Bouley Bay, so instead we visited Durrell Wildlife (Jersey Zoo), Gorey, Sorel Point, the German Hospital & War Tunnels and indulged in some circumnavigation of the island… Continue reading 23rd – 26th May



16th May

8th – 12th May

A visit to Istanbul in Turkey, for the Turkish Formula One Grand Prix. We enjoyed the city and the Grand Prix, but it was surprisingly cold! Look out for some of the images later in the year.



5th April

First dives of the year at Portland, visiting the Dredger just outside Portland harbour and the Wreck of the Countess of Erne, within the harbour itself. The visibility was non existent, so photography was difficult to say the least, but a good chance to get back into it. Bloody cold, too!


30th March

A day out on the R1200 GS, ending up at Portland, and then to the western end of Chesil Beach near Abbotsbury. Should’ve been diving, really.
