A last minute visit to Chesil Beach for a couple of dives – great conditions, not bad visibility. A few nice diver images to show for it. I rode down on the R1200 GS.

A visit to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, near Milan. We stayed in nearby Como, and found time to visit Belaggio, further up the lake. Lots of controversy all along the pit lane!

A ride to Wales on the R1200 GS to visit a friend who lives at Church Stoke near Bishops Castle. Route up via the old Severn Crossing, the Wye Valley, Hereford, Leominster, Ludlow and Craven Arms. On the Saturday, we rode to the Lleyn Peninsula via Welshpool, Dolgellau and Portmadog. As most of the UK basked in… Continue reading 3rd – 5th August

27th June – 4th July

A visit to the Egyptian Red Sea, aboard the Sea Serpent liveaboard based out of Marsa Alam. Areas visited included St. Johns, Fury Shoals and Elphinstone. It was a great week for photos, with Amanda’s clownfish image winning the on-board photo competition. It features as our August “Image of the month”.

20th June

Article describing our diving experiences aboard the Kona Aggressor in Hawaii is published in Sport Diver magazine.

2nd – 5th April

Dubious weather and a tsunami warning didn’t stop the Spirit of Freedom dive live aboard from leaving Cairns. An excellent trip with improving weather, we visited the Ribbon Reefs and the “world famous” Cod Hole before flying back to Cairns from Lizard Island.

27th – 30th March

Three nights in remote Alva Beach and two days to dive the Wreck of the SS Yongala. We were lucky with the weather. Several trips had been cancelled during the week before our arrival.

25th March

The flight back to “Bundi” and a short (by Australian standards) drive to the fantastically named Town of 1770.

20th December

Article describing the diving experiences of Florida’s Dry Tortugas National Park appears in Sport Diver magazine. More articles to follow in 2007.

21st – 25th March

Back to nature at the excellent Lady Elliot Island eco resort. A great place, simple living, nesting turtles, thousands of birds, fantastic diving and the smell of guano! Very “camera happy” here.

13th November

Pt II of “Building a Photography Website” submitted to the British Society of Underwater Photographers (BSOUP) for the “In Focus” magazine.

20th March

A four hour drive to Bundaberg, famous for its rum, and for us, the gateway to Lady Elliot Island on the southernmost tip of the Great Barrier Reef.

19th March

Set off for Beerwah, home of Australia Zoo, passing Brisbane to the left. The zoo was a “happy sad” place following the recent death of Aussie icon, conservationist and global megastar Steve Irwin. Nearby Landsborough was nice too, with a good pub.

15th October

A last minute decision to ride the R1200 Adventure to the Dive Show at NEC – gained some useful knowledge about Australia next year. The ride home was via Warwick and down through the Cotswolds taking in Moreton-in-the-Marsh, Stow, Bourton-on-the-Water, Cirencester and Tetbury.

17th March

Another long-ish drive to visit our friends on the Gold Coast, just south of Surfers Paradise. En route we passed Woolgoolga and Grafton. At Ballina we took the coastal route visiting Lennox Head and Byron Bay.

14th October

A dive under Swanage Pier. The conditions were “total pea soup”, so very little to show from it photographically.

16th March

A long drive North to Coffs Harbour. Took an interesting “loop” away from the main road passing the Myall Lakes National Park, the Booti Booti National Park, Forster and Tuncurry. We rejoined the Pacific Highway south of Taree and pressed on, bypassing Port Macquarie, and then through Kempsey and Mackville.

3rd October

First of a series of articles about building photographic websites is published in the BSOUP “In Focus” magazine.

23rd september – 2nd October

A visit to the “Big Island” of Hawaii to dive the Kona Coast aboard the “Kona Aggressor” liveaboard with a group of underwater photographers led by Martin Edge. Also, we had time after the liveaboard for a night in Kona and a spectacular helicopter ride around the entire island, passing the erupting volcano of Kilauea.
